Melbourne Art Week is a week of activities catering to local, national and international visitors, including art lovers, collectors, curators, artists and the general public.

Melbourne Art Week is launched with the Melbourne Art Foundation Keynote Address presented by a renowned international guest. This is followed by six days of events, functions and entertainment, including: the Collectors and Galleries Dinner, the celebrated opening night Vernissage and after party, free Forums and Artist Talks, art bars hosted each night of the week by local curators and artists, receptions for international guests, industry parties, walking art tours of Melbourne, live radio broadcasts from the venue, private morning teas, free Guided Tours, the launch and gifting of the Melbourne Art Foundation Commission, project room launch parties, artists who make music, film events amd other public events and functions, and most importantly the Melbourne Art Fair exhibition of over 80 galleries and 10 project rooms held in the Royal Exhibition Building.
